Oakville was nice

but I sure don’t want to live there. Well at least not the part I saw of it, I also travelled through what I think is old Milton Downtown, it is pretty boring. So there was traffic on the 401 and the lanes were closed for a bit so we decided to try to get to work through some other roads through Milton to get to the 407. Was that ever a bad idea, well maybe it was a good idea, it is hard to judge if you actually saved time since you can’t tell really if the 401 traffic really moved. I’m sure it did but they were announcing that the traffic was backed up even further than where we were when we crossed the 401 on the 407. It was fun though, I got to see trees and a brokeback mountain cowboy. At one stop light only two cars were getting through each light rotation so we just kept heading south until traffic seemed to be moving until we found a quiet windy road that had a bridge built for one car, the top of the bridge wasn’t pavement but wood. The scenerey and the houses around there were nice but but it was completely in the middle of nowhere. This is about where the bridge was.

It was pretty funny watching John wake up and look around trying to figure out where he was. Oh well.

Today we dine on poutine, it is what my darling wants so I shall hunt it down and kill it and we will feast. Now what to do for the weekend? I say party!

Another Dollar

I called Bell to suspend my satellite service for a few month and it is now a 15$ charge to do that over the phone or 10$ over the internet. I searched all over Bell’s site but I can’t find the way to do it over the internet. The only reference I could find to suspending your account suggested that you call Bell to do it and that it will be a 10$ fee.

I need to stock up on some anime to get through the months without tv. I wonder if I should head to Canada’s Wonderland, it can be fun, maybe, we’ll see I guess. Yesterday I was soo tired, I went to bed at 8.30 and I was exhausted around 7 or so. Bill came by earlier and mowed the lawn, I am not too sure why, I was going to do it today. I was actually going to do it yesterday but my phone died so I didn’t know Kathy was waiting at home, I was waiting at the mall for her for over an hour.

Kitty seems bored, he is so full of energy, he desperately wants to go outside and he constantly makes a lot of weird and short meows and is running around the house. That is except for the time that there were a few giant birds in the yard squawking, than he kind of backs up and hides. When he sees a robin by itself and he wants to get it he tries to hide under the curtain or just out of sight by the tread mill and prepares to pounce. Sooooo cute.

I will be going to London soon, they have a mandrin there, I am so excited yum yum. I emailed them to see when the Kitchener one will be opening.

I dislike drifting

It was always the mode I dreaded the most in Need for Speed Underground, it was just well plain stupid, I didn’t really see the point of it. Thankfully the other race modes in that game are pleasant.

If you have a can opener that works and you truly love it, hold on to it. Mine stopped working the other day, it seems that the washer that was behind the gear started to disintegrate more and kind of covered the gear. So I was off to get a new one to replace it in order for me to access the beans I keep in cans. Every can opener on the market has plastic in it and that makes me sad for the future generations. Plastic handles are easy to break when just squeezing on a particular evil can. Having the turn key made of plastic is an even worse idea since that part experiences much more pressure and force, it is much too easy to just snap. I saw a few others that looked shiney and promising but the base of the turnkey, i.e. the part that would experience the most force was plastic. It looked like with a good twist I would have been able to hold the can opener in both hands, not in the good way, in the broken way.
There didn’t appear to be much difference in the looks of the can openers from the dollar store to the ones in normal stores, the prices ranged from 1 to 5 bucks. I did however find a great can opener, all metal, looked stylish, nice easy turn key, very comfortable to grip and squeeze. Unfortunately this Kitchen-Aid Canopener was 20 bucks. It was really nice but 20 dollars was a lot more that what I wanted to spend. Someday, maybe someday.

After being lazy for a couple of days I have begun to do my dishes, I really should have done this stuff imediately because it is rather stuck in there and gross to smell. Who knew cake batter hardened so much. I should be mowing the lawn but I shouldn’t leave a dangerous appliance like a dishwasher on unattended and I won’t be able to do it after because I live in fear of the June Bug, it surely wants to taste the sweet sugar that is my soul. Maybe tomorrow.

I dislike how much the weather report is changing on a daily basis, yesterday it reported that the weekend was going to be nothing but thunder showers, now it shows rain just for Thursday and Sunday. Well I guess it means it will rain at some point in the day, probably some point in everyday.

Run Around

This week was a lot of fun, I regret that I remember so little of it. My Birthday came and went on Wednesday. My parents got a cake as we attempted to celebrate, I didn’t get any of the cake though, it was from Zehrs, yick. I was expecting some ice cream cake goodness.

I played a bit of Paper Mario 2, it is pretty fun and neat, a bit more different than how I thought it would be. I finished off Super Mario DS, I started going through it again to collect all the coins and to get to the two worlds I missed due to forks in the road. I have to be tiny Mario to get there which will be interesting.

Chris will be interested to know that the Game Store by the comic/table top game stores has Star Craft 64 for aroound 60 bucks. I was pretty dissappointed though, there NES and SNES selection is down to almost nothing, or at least it seems like it. They seem to still have all the Atari games that they had the last time I was there.

Kathy and I went to the Kitcher’s farmer market today and got some of that veggie stuff, I haven’t had any of the oranges I got yet, we than began to wander around in the cold rain. At the farmer’s Market there was an old guy who played All Apologies and than Hurt for the people at the food court there. Down Town Kitchener is a mess of road closures due to all the construction, I guess it isn’t too bad, oh well. Kathy had a driving test on Friday, they go through those tests pretty quickly, she didn’t pass. I thought she failed when she left the parking lot, from my vantage point it looked like she did a rolling stop at the stop sign there. Oh the Store Brand Chocolate milk at Food Basic’s is really good and really rich.

My fish tank is now snail free and has stayed that way for about 2 weeks now, I guess I can begin to populate it now. I want to get a froggy in there. I was going to get one today but I arrived at the store much too late.

I am not too sure why but there are fishing poles in the garage, If possible I may take them out to the local park and fish in the icky river, just to get out really. I hope it is a nice day.
